Kothla-Järve Town Government

The town of Kohtla-Järve is an important town for the region because of its oil-shale processing. However, the presence of chemical industry is not favourable for preservation of buildings’ outward appearance. Town Council passed a resolution defining areas of heritage-protected architecture,which include both residential neighbourhoods and separate buildings CO2OL Bricks  project envisages joint actions with building owners, construction and project firms aimed at training, disseminating information, and providing clarification on modern methods of conserving heat, reducing utility bills, and, at the same time, improving the outward appearance of historical landmarks. In the framework of the project in common work with project partners will be  prepared recommendations for renovation of some buildings included in the heritage-protected areas.
This project proposed: investigations, youth international conference, joint actions with building owners, construction and design firms aimed at training, disseminating information, providing clarification on modern methods of conserving heat, reducing utility bills, and, at the same time, improving the outward appearance of historical landmarks. Recommendations for renovation of buildings, included in the heritage-protected sectors will be prepared. One of the town’s located in heritage protected area will be provided with a complete technical project for renovation.
